What the name means
Saam is Afrikaans
for together.
That is the whole idea, and in South Africa the name does the community work by itself. We don’t rent courts and run an Americano — we build padel experiences, and the communities that form around them.
The point
Padel is the reason. It isn’t really the point.
What we actually do
Every saam padel event is put together around coaches, food, wellness partners, local brands and prizes: the kind of morning people want to be photographed at, with people they will play with again.
Three ways in
Learn, connect, or just play
Learn
Beginner and tactical workshops, ladies clinics, team coaching and specialist sessions with coaches and biokineticists.
Connect
Corporate days, client entertainment, networking events and brand activations.
Social
Curated social events, themed padel days, invitationals, brunch and evening pop-ups.
Small on purpose
Nobody out of their depth, nobody bored
Groups are kept small and matched by ability, and the room stays small enough that you actually meet everyone. Places go to the list before they go anywhere else — we would rather fill a room from one round of invitations and hold a waiting list behind it than sell seats to whoever turns up.

Who runs it
Christie Rowse, with Ben Padels on court
saam padel is built and run by Christie Rowse, working with Ben van der Merwe — Ben Padels — as lead coach. Every skill zone at an event is run by the person who does it for a living: coaching, vision science, conditioning and recovery.
Where we play
Virgin Active Groenkloof, Pretoria.
That is where our relationships are. The format is built to travel, so a saam day can run at any padel club.
The people who build it with us
Six partners who each run a real part of the day — not a wall of logos.
Every event is put together with a small group of local businesses. They bring the real thing — the range, the protocol, the food — and get their product into the hands of a room that is paying attention.
